"JUDITH" THE RETRO CUT

Happy Friday The 13th everyone! I am excited to share with you the brand new “Retro Cut" of our HALLOWEEN tribute short film JUDITH. Director Josh Hasty decided to revisit the footage and put together this killer new throwback style horror film for your viewing pleasure (see below for director's notes)!

In order to upload the film to Vimeo we had to compress the video file, so the picture quality is a little disappointing - if anyone is interested in getting a DVD copy of the new cut, we are giving them away for FREE with purchase of a Myers House NC t-shirt ($13 + shipping) – CLICK HERE for more details! So lock your doors, bolt your windows, turn off the lights and ENJOY THE FILM!

Director's Notes regarding “The Retro Cut”
When Kenny Caperton and I set out to shoot this film, we never wanted it to come across as just another fan film. Although we are obviously serious fans of the original film, as is everyone who helped make the film, we wanted people to see this as a "tribute.” The original cut was fine and got a positive response, but it just didn't have the feel I wanted. Nonetheless, we released it anyway. I left it alone for about a year or so and finally decided to revisit it. I remembered an interview I read with Michael Mann on making "Public Enemies.” The interviewer asked him why he shot the film in HD and didn't add an old film effect to match the costumes and sets of the film. He said something along the lines of the fact that once you add that nostalgia to the picture, the audience is no longer "in" the film with the characters, but rather watching archival footage. That was it! I thought, if this is a tribute, I don't want the audience to feel like they're there. They're not. They were there in 1978 with John Carpenter's film, not this one. So a new look and a few alterations to some of the scenes were made, and I couldn't be happier with final product as it stands. To me it's solid, concise, and very pleasing to watch. It's simply a tribute to HALLOWEEN. ~J. Hasty

JUDITH: THE NIGHT SHE STAYED HOME (2010)
from The Myers House NC & Circa Sixty-Seven Industries

Film Synopsis: TRICK-OR-TREAT! It's Halloween day in the quiet rural community of Haddonfield, Illinois. Judith Myers and her best friend D'arcy Mims are planning a Halloween night campout at The Myers House with their friends. Judith is trying to forget the growing tensions in her family and wants to immerse herself in a carefree celebration, but her reclusive brother's presence casts an ominous shadow over their cheerful preparations.

This short film breaths life into an often overlooked character from John Carpenter's HALLOWEEN - Judith Myers may have only had a short appearance in the classic film, but she nevertheless played a crucial role in the forming of the Michael Myers story. Director Josh Hasty (A Mannequin in Static) and writer Kenny Caperton (the creator of The Myers House NC) join forces to reinvent a classic character in an original new story.

JUDITH was released on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Dusk. The film was released online for free in streaming video, and that coincided with a physical limited edition (ONLY 100 / SOLD-OUT) hand-numbered DVD release. The film was shot in 5 days in September 2009 at The Myers House NC and the surrounding areas of Hillsborough, NC and Orange Grove, NC.

"ALL HALLOWS EVIL" TEASER TRAILER

Check out the official teaser trailer for All Hallows Evil - Lord of the Harvest, which was filmed partially at the house this Fall. The film is scheduled to be released in October 2012. For more information, please visit cryptshow.net or the official Facebook page.

Film Synopsis: The sleepy town of Hallowed Hill is known by many as the Halloween capitol of the world because of its history, and because of its Pagan origins. People from all around come to visit the town on the night of All Hallows Eve.

200 years ago, on Halloween, a great evil was unleashed on the town by a witch who dabbled in the black arts. After a long night of mayhem, brought on by this terrible evil, a select group of towns folk were able to stop the witch, and dispatch the evil back into the darkness from whence it came.

Now 200 years later a young girl finds an ancient Pagan book archived deep in the old cellar of the local library, and with the help of her wicked foster mother the two again release the evil Sam Hain from his hell-bound prison to once again wreak havoc on Halloween night. The question is, can the town once again join together to stop the evil, or will Hallowed Hill be completely devoured by the Lord of the Harvest.
