ON SET CINEMA
ON SET CINEMA is an ongoing film series that takes fandom a step further with rare movie screenings of cult favorites and horror classics at their actual filming locations. Created by Kenny Caperton, who lives in a life-size replica of Michael Myers’ house from John Carpenter’s original Halloween.

We all know there's
only so close you can get to a movie when you're watching it at home from the couch or inside a movie theater …but what if you could step into the screen for a moment? Watch movies like The Lost Boys, Sleepaway CampIt Follows, Empire Records and Children of the Corn at the actual spots where a lot of the action takes place - whether that’s inside a small town department store where Sarah Michelle Gellar ran for her life in I Know What You Did Last Summer or at the Summer Cam
p where Jason Voorhees knocks off a bunch of camp counselors in Jason Lives, ON SET CINEMA takes you there!

HEY, YOU GUYS! On Set Cinema is heading to Astoria, Oregon on Friday, October 4, 2024 for a very special screening of one of the greatest adventure movies of all time ...”THE GOONIES”! I will be screening the movie inside Lower Columbia Bowling Alley, which is where Chunk (Jeff Cohen) spots the Fratelli family police chase in the opening credits of the film and smashes his Pepsi cup and pizza against the window.

Lower Columbia Bowl has been serving Astoria since 1956 and is in the heart of The Goon Docks - located directly down the street from the Oregon Film Museum (aka the County Jail that Jake Fratelli escapes from in the opening), which has a bunch of “Goonies” memorabilia on display. The bowling alley is also located directly by the historic Flavel House Museum (aka the Astoria Historical Museum where Mikey and Brand's dad works in the movie).

Fans can either reserve a group ticket (up to 4 people) that includes a bowling lane to enjoy some bowling before the screening or an individual ticket to simply hang out inside the bowling alley and watch the movie. “The Goonies” soundtrack will be booming and there will of course be Pepsi, pizza and video games!

I will also be doing an additional filming locations bike riding tour around Astoria earlier in the day to show fans where a bunch of other stuff was filmed in the movie, including biking to the infamous “Goonies” house! This is going to be such a fun experience for fans and if you've never been to Astoria, this is the time to do it - such a beautiful place! FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2024 • URBAN LEGEND

Toronto, ON, Canada • University of Toronto (aka Pendleton University)

UrbanLegend
osc_urbanlegend_web.jpg

“Ok, listen up guys, cause this is how the story really goes...” ON SET CINEMA is heading to Pendleton University! ...aka the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada on Friday, November 15, 2024 for a very special screening of the 1998 slasher “URBAN LEGEND”!

This is one of my all time favorite horror movies from the 90s, so I'm beyond excited for this event! I'll be showing the film inside the historic Junior Common Room, which is the actual college hang out room featured in the movie! Built in the 1920s, this space was used extensively throughout the film - this is where we're first introduced to the majority of the cast ...Parker (Michael Rosenbaum), Paul (Jared Leto), Natalie (Alicia Witt) and Brenda (Rebecca Gayheart) hang out and drink coffee while Parker tells the story of the Stanley Hall Massacre and Paul calls bullshit. This is also where the cast discusses the deaths of Michelle & Damon and Parker realizes that the scratching on top of the car is like that urban legend and Natalie puts two and two together that someone is taking these legends and turning them into reality.

This is going to be such a unique and memorable experience - the room still looks almost exactly like it did over 25 years ago. The “Urban Legend” soundtrack will be playing, Diabolos Coffee Bar featured in the movie will be open serving drinks and everyone attending will get a pack of Pop Rocks and a Pepsi to see if your insides will explode when putting them together. There will also be a filming locations walking tour around campus to check out where a bunch of the other scenes were shot in the movie!

This event is going to be a blast! ...beware though, one of you is getting “the kidney heist” before you leave...

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2024 • BLACK CHRISTMAS (1974)

Toronto, ON, Canada • Police Station

WITH SPECIAL GUEST LYNNE GRIFFIN (AKA CLARE HARRISON)

BlackChristmas

osc_blackchristmas_promo_SG_Lynna_web.jpg

SECOND SCREENING ADDED AT 9:45PM. SEE BELOW FOR ALL INFO AND LINK TO TICKETS!

“Hey, it's me Billy...” Join ON SET CINEMA on Saturday, November 16, 2024 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada for a very special 50th Anniversary screening of Bob Clark's 1974 slasher classic “BLACK CHRISTMAS”!

I'm excited to announce that Lynne Griffin, who played the iconic role of Clare Harrison in “Black Christmas,” will be a very special guest at this event! Clare is Billy's first victim. Billy suffocates her with a plastic wardrobe bag and places her body in a rocking chair in the attic, where it sits throughout the duration of the film ...watching from the window, waiting to be discovered. This chilling image is featured on almost all of the “Black Christmas” advertising ...the one-sheet, VHS covers, DVD covers, etc. Lynne has been a professional actor for over 50 years and appeared in over 100 productions. I'm absolutely honored to have her as a special guest at this event. She will be doing an autograph signing before the screening.

I'll be showing the movie inside the actual building that was the police station in the film! This building (now a local Community Center) was used extensively throughout the movie - this is where Mr. Harrison (James Edmon) goes with Barb (Margot Kidder) and Phyl (Andrea Martin) to report Clare missing and of course where Barb gives Sergeant Nash the fake “Fellatio” sorority house number. This is also where Chris (Art Hindle) burst into the station with Jess (Olivia Hussey) and yells at Nash for not taking the disappearance seriously.

We'll be watching the movie inside the exact room that was Lt. Ken Fuller's (John Saxon) office in the movie! This is the room where Fuller and Detective Buchanan set at their desks and listen in on Billy's calls to Jess through a tapped phone line. And one of the most pivotal moments in the movie takes place inside the police station - where Nash reveals to Jess over the phone that the calls are being made from inside the house!

There will be Christmas music playing, a Horror Christmas presents raffle and a tour of the building to show fans exactly where everything takes place in the movie. This is going to be such an incredible way to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the film!

*** Original screening check-in has been pushed up to 6:30pm. There will NOT be a Q&A with Lynne at the second (9:45pm show) screening.

ON SET CINEMA: ABOUT

ON SET CINEMA is the brainchild of Kenny Caperton. Growing up in the 80s & 90s, like most kids at the time, he spent Friday nights wandering the aisles of local video stores with friends or at home eating junk food while watching late night cable television. Caperton has always been fascinated by movies, but his love runs much deeper than the average person. He has assimilated his passion for cinema into real life - for nearly 25 years Caperton has been taking "vacation" trips all over the US, Canada and the United Kingdom to visit filming locations from his favorite movies and TV shows: The Shining, Empire Records, It Follows, The Crush, My Bloody Valentine, The Goonies, Scream, My So-Called Life, Rocky Horror, Stranger Things ...the list goes on and on. He even made a full length feature film that got worldwide distribution without taking a single filmmaking class. Caperton took everything to an entirely new level in 2008 when he decided to build and live in a life-size replica of the infamous Michael Myers' house from his favorite movie of all time - John Carpenter's 1978 horror classic, Halloween.

Kenny truly understands what it means to immerse oneself in something they love and has integrated this into his daily life. Now he wants to share that experience with other fans through On Set Cinema!
