ON SET CINEMA
ON SET CINEMA is an ongoing film series that takes fandom a step further with rare movie screenings of cult favorites and horror classics at their actual filming locations. Created by Kenny Caperton, who lives in a life-size replica of Michael Myers’ house from John Carpenter’s original Halloween.
We all know there's only so close you can get to a movie when you're watching it at home from the couch or inside a movie theater …but what if you could step into the screen for a moment?
Watch movies like The Lost Boys, Sleepaway Camp, It Follows, Empire Records and Children of the Corn at the actual spots where a lot of the action takes place - whether that’s inside a small town department store where Sarah Michelle Gellar ran for her life in I Know What You Did Last Summer or at the Summer Camp where Jason Voorhees knocks off a bunch of camp counselors in Jason Lives, ON SET CINEMA takes you there!

FRIDAY, MARCH 13, 2026 • FRIDAY THE 13TH (2009)
Round Rock, Texas • The Barn

Welcome to Crystal Lake! Join ON SET CINEMA on Friday the 13th - March 13, 2026 in Round Rock, Texas, for a killer on-location screening of the 2009 remake of "Friday The 13th"!
I’ll be showing the movie at the infamous red barn, where several key scenes in the film take place. This is where Clay pulls up on his motorcycle and shows Donnie the “missing” flier in hopes that he’s seen his sister, Whitney. This is also the location where Donnie encounters Jason in the barn’s hayloft and pulls off his burlap sack, unmasking him before meeting his fate with machete to the neck. Jason then finds his infamous hockey mask and dons it while staring into a cracked mirror.
And finally, this is also where the movie’s climactic ending and final showdown takes place! Clay and Whitney trap Jason inside the barn with a chained bear trap, hang him from the rafters, then ultimately he gets pulled into a wood chipper!
This is going to be an awesome experience for "Friday" fans! I hope to see you there!!
• Location: The Red Barn - 180 Harrell Pkwy, Round Rock, TX 78665

SUNDAY, MARCH 15, 2026 • THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN (1976) - 50TH ANNIVERSARY!
WITH SPECIAL GUEST ANDY ABELE (AKA THE PHANTOM KILLER 2014)
Texarkana, Texas & Texarkana, Arkansas • Downtown Texarkana
& THE TOWN THAT DREADED SUNDOWN (2014)

Join ON SET CINEMA on Sunday, March 15, 2026 in Texarkana for a very special 50th Anniversary celebration of “The Town That Dreaded Sundown”!
Both the 1976 original film and the 2014 meta-sequel are inspired by the real-life “Moonlight Murders,” a series of brutal attacks that terrorized Texarkana in 1946. The masked killer known as the Phantom Killer targeted young couples in lovers’ lanes... and was never caught. 80 years later, the case remains unsolved.
I’ll be screening Charles B. Pierce’s “The Town That Dreaded Sundown” (1976) at the historic Silvermoon on Broad building in downtown Texarkana, Texas - just steps from the old McCartney Hotel and Union Station building where quite a bit of the film takes place.
This is where the film truly begins - setting the stage with unsuspecting townspeople and the unforgettable narration that signals the nightmare to come. As night fell on March 3, 1946, the Phantom emerged, stalking couples outside the “Paramount Theatre,” which was a temporary set attached to the McCartney Hotel.
The nearby Union Station building served as the arrival point for Texas Ranger Captain J.D. Morales and doubled as the police station and press conference location in the original film. Decades later, it became the setting for part of the climactic final chase in the 2014 meta-sequel.
Before the screening at Silvermoon, fans can join me for a downtown Texarkana filming locations walking tour, exploring key locations from both films while also diving into the chilling true history of the Moonlight Murders.
And when the night is far from over...
After the Texas screening, fans can walk across the state line into Texarkana, Arkansas, for a special screening of “The Town That Dreaded Sundown” (2014) meta-sequel at The Art Station! This is the actual filming location that served as the gas station in the movie, where the Phantom murders three people, including Jami's grandmother, Lillian and ignites the film’s final chase, beginning one of the most intense sequences in the movie.
Tickets for this event are VERY LIMITED!
For those looking for the Ultimate Sundown Experience - 12 fans will have the awesome opportunity to spend the night inside the gas station building itself. Twin-size air mattresses will be provided as we camp out together and watch more horror movies late into the night!
And finally, I'm thrilled to announce that stunt actor Andy Abele (“Looper,” “G.I. Joe: Retaliation,” “True Detective”), who physically portrayed the infamous Phantom Killer in “The Town That Dreaded Sundown” (2014) will be a special guest at this event! Every Phantom scene in the film prior to the unmasking at the end of the movie was performed by Andy. He is also on all of the advertising - the movie poster, DVD cover, Blu-ray cover, etc. This will be his FIRST EVER signing appearance – he will be signing autographs and taking photos with fans for FREE, joining the walking tour, and participating in a Q&A at The Art Station 2014 screening.
I'm beyond excited for this event and can't wait to celebrate these movies where they were filmed! Just remember... “Texarkana today still looks pretty much the same. And if you should ask people on the street what they believe happened to the Phantom Killer, most would say that he is still living here... and is walking free.” ~ The Narrator

SATURDAY, APRIL 11, 2026 • HALLOWEEN KILLS
Wilmington, North Carolina • The Rusty Nail (Mick's Bar)
WITH SPECIAL GUESTS GISELLE (MAX) WITT (MINDY) & WALT GRYCZAN (TIVOLI)

EVIL DIES on Saturday, April 11, 2026 at a very special ON SET CINEMA screening of "Halloween Kills" in Wilmington, North Carolina at The Rusty Nail Bar (aka Mick’s Bar) - the actual filming location where Tommy Doyle, Lindsey Wallace, Lonnie Elam, and Marion Chambers reunite on Halloween night to tell the story of The Haddonfield Boogeyman. This is also the bar where Vanessa thinks she sees Michael Myers in the backseat of her car and Tommy grabs Old Huckleberry to find out!
I’m excited to announce that Giselle (Max) Witt, who played Mindy in "Halloween Kills," will be a special guest at this event! In the film, Mindy fakes swallowing a razor blade at the Myers House so her friends can sneak inside and steal Halloween candy from Big John and Little John. Later, she carelessly plays on a swing set in Haddonfield at night, unaware that the masked Shape watching her and her friend is none other than Michael Myers... until Lindsey warns them!
This will be Giselle (Max) Witt’s FIRST EVER signing appearance! She will be signing autographs and participating in a Q&A at the event. After the movie screening, fans will have the incredible opportunity to meet Giselle (Max) at the actual park filming location where some of her scenes were shot, and take photos and/or videos with her on the same swing set featured in the film.
*** Walt Gryczan, who played the escaped mental patient Tivoli, will also be a special guest at this event! Actor Ross Bacon, who is credited as playing Tivoli in "Halloween Kills," was sadly very ill during filming and unfortunately passed away before the film’s release (R.I.P.). Walt performed nearly all of the role alongside Ross - the close-up shots are Ross, but almost everything else on screen is Walt.
Walt also performed alongside Jamie Lee Curtis, Charles Cyphers, and Judy Greer, and he has a ton of amazing stories from the set. He will be signing autographs for free and will also be bringing a bunch of cool items for fans to check out, including the hospital gown he wore in the movie!
The movie will be screened inside the bar, on the exact same stage where Tommy tells the Boogeyman story. There will be drinks (including a special “Voodoo Skeleton” drink) and snacks available for purchase (please support the bar) and free trick-or-treat candy. This is a 21+ only event and tickets are very limited.
I’m also offering a filming locations ride-along tour on THURSDAY, APRIL 9TH, visiting a variety of horror filming locations in Wilmington - including nearly every location from “Halloween Kills,” as well as locations from “Scream” (2022), “Silver Bullet,” and “The Black Phone.” The ride-along will last approximately 4–5 hours. FRIDAY, MAY 29, 2026 • THE MOTHMAN PROPHECIES - SOLD OUT!
Kittanning, Pennsylvania • The Meredith Inn Restaurant

THIS EVENT IS NOW SOLD OUT! THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE SUPPORT!
*** THERE IS NOT A WAITLIST.
“Wake up, Number 37…” Get in your car and mysteriously find yourself in Kittanning, PA (aka Point Pleasant, WV) on Friday, May 29, 2026 for a very special ON SET CINEMA screening of “The Mothman Prophecies”!
Kittanning is a quiet, picturesque borough along the Allegheny River in Pennsylvania — and it doubled as the eerie town of Point Pleasant, West Virginia in “The Mothman Prophecies.” Point Pleasant, of course, is where the real-life legend of the Mothman first emerged in the late 1960s.
I'll be screening the movie outdoors on the covered patio of the beautiful Meredith Inn Restaurant, located directly across from the Citizens Bridge ...better known as the Silver Bridge - where the tragic ending of “The Mothman Prophecies” was filmed!
The Meredith Inn is also located less than a block away from downtown Market St, where nearly every “Point Pleasant” scene was filmed: where John Klein (Richard Gere) gets his car checked after it mysteriously breaks down, where he talks with Connie (Laura Linney) about growing up in a small town, where the Christmas tree lighting takes place in front of the courthouse, where the coffee shop scenes take place, police station scenes, Mothman POV aerial shots, the film’s haunting ending and more!
The Meredith Inn will be serving food and drinks during the event, including a special “Indrid Cold” cocktail - so please come hungry and support the restaurant! Before the screening, I’ll be leading a downtown Kittanning filming locations walking tour, showing fans exactly where everything took place in the movie. This is going to be such a fun experience for Mothman fans... just be sure to keep one eye on the sky, watching for those evil red eyes.

ON SET CINEMA: ABOUT
ON SET CINEMA is the brainchild of Kenny Caperton. Growing up in the 80s & 90s, like most kids at the time, he spent Friday nights wandering the aisles of local video stores with friends or at home eating junk food while watching late night cable television.
Kenny has always been fascinated by movies, but his love runs much deeper than the average person. He has assimilated his passion for cinema into real life - for over 25 years Caperton has traveled all over the US, Canada and internationally to visit filming locations from his favorite movies and TV shows: Scream, Empire Records, It Follows, The Crush, My Bloody Valentine, The Goonies, My So-Called Life, Slaughter High ...the list goes on and on. He even made a full length feature film that got worldwide distribution without taking a single filmmaking class. Caperton took everything to an entirely new level in 2008 when he decided to build and live in a life-size replica of the infamous Michael Myers' house from his favorite movie of all time - John Carpenter's 1978 horror classic, Halloween.
Kenny truly understands what it means to immerse oneself in something they love and has integrated this into his daily life. Now he wants to share that experience with other fans through On Set Cinema!
