ON SET CINEMA
ON SET CINEMA is an ongoing film series that takes fandom a step further with rare movie screenings of cult favorites and horror classics at their actual filming locations. Created by Kenny Caperton, who lives in a life-size replica of Michael Myers’ house from John Carpenter’s original Halloween.

We all know there's
only so close you can get to a movie when you're watching it at home from the couch or inside a movie theater …but what if you could step into the screen for a moment? Watch movies like The Lost Boys, Sleepaway CampIt Follows, Empire Records and Children of the Corn at the actual spots where a lot of the action takes place - whether that’s inside a small town department store where Sarah Michelle Gellar ran for her life in I Know What You Did Last Summer or at the Summer Cam
p where Jason Voorhees knocks off a bunch of camp counselors in Jason Lives, ON SET CINEMA takes you there!

SATURDAY, APRIL 20, 2024  HALLOWEEN ENDS

Pooler, Georgia • Ronnie's Restaurant

HalloweenEnds

Join On Set Cinema in Pooler, Georgia on Saturday, April 20th for a very special screening of “Halloween Ends” at Ronnie's Restaurant! I'll be showing the film inside the actual restaurant featured in the movie - where Allyson (Andi Matichak) and Corey (Rohan Campbell) have dinner, after Corey shows her the house where the babysitting accident happened. They talk about why Allyson decided to stay in Haddonfield after her mom and dad were killed and also discuss Laurie and what she has endured over the years. Then Officer Doug Mulaney walks over to their table, bothering Allyson, and Corey almost gets in a fight with him.

What's interesting about this particular scene in the movie, is that this is when Corey kinda snaps and decides he's ready to take control. After this scene, he drops off Allyson and lures Officer Mulaney back to Michael's hideout in the sewer and Corey and Michael kill Doug together.

Allyson returns to this location later in the film to meet up with Corey and you can see the “Ronnie's Restaurant” sign. It's cool that the production used the real restaurant sign in the movie.

Then finally at the end of the film, after Michael is crushed, Allyson eats while watching the aftermath news on TV. From there she gets in her car and drives out of Haddonfield.

Fans will be able to hangout and have dinner at the same tables and booths used in the movie, then after the restaurant is closed, we'll have the entire place all to ourselves! A very limited number of fans will have the opportunity to spend the night inside the restaurant for a Horror sleepover! There will be drinks, snacks, board games and of course we'll watch more Horror movies into the night ...I'm thinking “H3” will pair nicely with this one! Everyone staying all night will be provided a twin size air-mattress and you'll be able to sleep wherever you want inside the building.

I'm also offering a filming locations ride-along tour on Sunday (April 21) to check out all of the other filming locations from the movie. There's a ton of them so it should be a lot of fun! ONLY 3 SPOTS AVAILABLE! *** BOTH RIDE-ALONGS ARE SOLD-OUT!

The Meredith Inn will have lots of food and drinks (including a special “Indrid Cold” drink) available for purchase during the event. Before the movie screening I'll be doing a downtown Kittanning filming locations walking tour to show fans exactly where everything took place in the movie! SATURDAY, JULY 13, 2024  CHILDREN OF THE CORN (1984) - 40TH ANNIVERSARY EVENT!

WITH SPECIAL GUEST COURTNEY GAINS

Whiting, Iowa • The Town of Gatlin

ON SET CINEMA is heading back to the small town of Gatlin on July 13, 2024 to join He Who Walks Behind The Rows for a very special 40th Anniversary screening of Stephen King’s “Children of the Corn”!

I'm excited to announce that Malachai himself ...actor COURTNEY GAINS will be a special guest at this event! This will be Courtney's first time back to Whiting since filming took place in the early 1980s. He will be joining us for an autograph signing, Q&A and special photo op by the flagpole!

“Children of the Corn” was filmed in several great small towns throughout western Iowa, but I will be showing the movie in the heart of Gatlin in the town of Whiting, outside in front of the infamous “Outlander” flagpole! A bunch of scenes from the movie took place in Whiting - this is where Burt (Peter Horton) and Vicky (Linda Hamilton) pull into the ghost town in front of Hansen’s Café, where all the adults were murdered by the children in the beginning of the movie. This is also where a ton of chase scenes throughout the movie take place. Also, you can't forget the scene where Malachai (Courtney Gains) holds Vicky in front of the flagpole and yells “Outlander! Outlander! We have your woman!”

There will be local food vendors at the event selling lots of great food, including popcorn for the movie and of course corn on the cob!

This is going to be an incredible way to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of one of the greatest horror movies of all time! Just remember, Malachai will be watching you and any unbelievers or profaners of the holy will be sacrificed unto Him …HE WHO WALKS BEHIND THE ROWS SEETH ALL!

“Children of the Corn” historian and my good friend John Sullivan from ChildrenoftheCornMovie.com will also be returning to Gatlin! He will be joining us on the filming locations bus tour and also be doing a filming locations walking tour around downtown Whiting for all ticket holders - fans can see exactly where the action took place and get some insight into the behind-the-scenes making of the movie.

SATURDAY, JULY 20, 2024  TWISTER (1996)

Guthrie, Oklahoma • The Galaxy Drive-In Set

Twister
osc_twister_web.jpg

Saddle 'em up! Hop in your indestructible truck ...there's a Twister coming! ON SET CINEMA is heading to Guthrie, Oklahoma on Saturday, July 20, 2024 for a very special screening of one of the most beloved action adventure movies of all time … “TWISTER.”

I'll be showing the movie exactly where the infamous “Galaxy Drive-In” scenes took place in the movie! This is the actual spot in Guthrie where the production constructed the massive drive-in movie set and then of course destroyed it during filming. Where the gang regroups and the locals enjoy “A NIGHT OF HORRORS” featuring “The Shining” & “Psycho” at the drive-in. Then out of nowhere, a Tornado touches down right on top of everyone and rips through the screen just as Jack Torrance says “Here's Johnny” in “The Shining.”

Fans will get to hang out and enjoy the property before the screening. I'll also be taking everyone on a walking tour of the property to show you exactly where everything once stood, so you can imagine being in the eye of the storm while we watch the movie that night! And if you want to get the full experience, I'm offering a limited amount of fans the incredible opportunity to camp out overnight on the property! If it's a nice night, I'll be showing “The Shining” & “Psycho” for everyone camping out.

This is going to be an amazing experience for fans of the movie and I'm honored to put together this event. Oklahoma is such a great place and I highly suggest making a weekend trip out of it – try to check out Guthrie, Oklahoma City and Tulsa if you can! What's even more exciting is that the long awaited “TWISTER” sequel, “TWISTERS” is opening in theaters this same weekend and it was also partly filmed in Oklahoma. My plan is to hopefully arrange a get-together on Friday night for fans attending my event at one of the local theaters in the area so we can all watch the new movie together!

So get ready and hold onto your hats. “It's coming! It's heading right for us!!” ~Dusty … “It's already here.” ~Bill

HEY, YOU GUYS! On Set Cinema is heading to Astoria, Oregon on Friday, October 4, 2024 for a very special screening of one of the greatest adventure movies of all time ...”THE GOONIES”! I will be screening the movie inside Lower Columbia Bowling Alley, which is where Chunk (Jeff Cohen) spots the Fratelli family police chase in the opening credits of the film and smashes his Pepsi cup and pizza against the window.

Lower Columbia Bowl has been serving Astoria since 1956 and is in the heart of The Goon Docks - located directly down the street from the Oregon Film Museum (aka the County Jail that Jake Fratelli escapes from in the opening), which has a bunch of “Goonies” memorabilia on display. The bowling alley is also located directly by the historic Flavel House Museum (aka the Astoria Historical Museum where Mikey and Brand's dad works in the movie).

Fans can either reserve a group ticket (up to 4 people) that includes a bowling lane to enjoy some bowling before the screening or an individual ticket to simply hang out inside the bowling alley and watch the movie. “The Goonies” soundtrack will be booming and there will of course be Pepsi, pizza and video games!

TheShining

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2024  THE SHINING

Government Camp, Oregon • Timberline Lodge (aka The Overlook Hotel)

All work and no play makes you a dull boy. Come and play with us forever …and ever …and ever.

Join ON SET CINEMA at the infamous Overlook Hotel on Sunday, October 6th for a very special screening of “THE SHINING”! I'll be showing the film at the Historic Timberline Lodge …aka The Overlook in beautiful Mount Hood, Oregon. The Timberline Lodge sits high on the shoulder of one of the most iconic mountain peaks in the Pacific Northwest and served as the actual filming location for the establishing exterior shots of the infamous Overlook Hotel in Stanley Kubrick’s cinematic adaptation of Stephen King’s terrifying novel, The Shining!

This is a rare public screening of the movie at Timberline and seating is limited. Fans will have access to the hotel grounds for the majority of the day, as well as the interior of the lodge (Cascade dining room, Ram’s Head Bar & Restaurant, Wy’East Café, history exhibit, gift shops, etc). There will be a special themed bar for attendees, fun photo ops, giveaways & more!

The Timberline Lodge is a US National Historic Landmark and is listed on the US National Register of Historic Places. President Franklin D. Roosevelt dedicated the lodge in 1937. It's definitely a sight to behold - the lodge and the views are absolutely incredible! So grab your big wheels and prepare for total isolation …Mr. Torrance is waiting for you.

I highly recommend staying overnight at the lodge to get the full experience. On Set Cinema ticket holders get a massive discount for Sunday night lodging! Just to give you an idea of the Sunday night discount:

• Sunday night “Queen” standard rate: $345 / On Set Cinema rate: $192.95 ($152.05 OFF - almost completely pays for 2 On Set Cinema tickets!)

• Sunday night “Queen Twin” standard rate: $375 / On Set Cinema rate: $210 ($165 OFF - completely pays for 2 On Set Cinema tickets!)

...the list goes on. So again, I highly suggest staying all night - it will basically pay for your OSC ticket.

UrbanLegend

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 15, 2024 • URBAN LEGEND

Toronto, ON, Canada • University of Toronto (aka Pendleton University)

osc_urbanlegend_web.jpg

“Ok, listen up guys, cause this is how the story really goes...” ON SET CINEMA is heading to Pendleton University! ...aka the University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada on Friday, November 15, 2024 for a very special screening of the 1998 slasher “URBAN LEGEND”!

This is one of my all time favorite horror movies from the 90s, so I'm beyond excited for this event! I'll be showing the film inside the historic Junior Common Room, which is the actual college hang out room featured in the movie! Built in the 1920s, this space was used extensively throughout the film - this is where we're first introduced to the majority of the cast ...Parker (Michael Rosenbaum), Paul (Jared Leto), Natalie (Alicia Witt) and Brenda (Rebecca Gayheart) hang out and drink coffee while Parker tells the story of the Stanley Hall Massacre and Paul calls bullshit. This is also where the cast discusses the deaths of Michelle & Damon and Parker realizes that the scratching on top of the car is like that urban legend and Natalie puts two and two together that someone is taking these legends and turning them into reality.

This is going to be such a unique and memorable experience - the room still looks almost exactly like it did over 25 years ago. The “Urban Legend” soundtrack will be playing, Diabolos Coffee Bar featured in the movie will be open serving drinks and everyone attending will get a pack of Pop Rocks and a Pepsi to see if your insides will explode when putting them together. There will also be a filming locations walking tour around campus to check out where a bunch of the other scenes were shot in the movie!

This event is going to be a blast! ...beware though, one of you is getting “the kidney heist” before you leave...

• Location: University of Toronto / Junior Common Room (JCR) - 15 King's College Cir, Toronto, ON M5S 3H7, Canada
• Date / Time: Friday, November 15, 2024

ON SET CINEMA: ABOUT

ON SET CINEMA is the brainchild of Kenny Caperton. Growing up in the 80s & 90s, like most kids at the time, he spent Friday nights wandering the aisles of local video stores with friends or at home eating junk food while watching late night cable television. Caperton has always been fascinated by movies, but his love runs much deeper than the average person. He has assimilated his passion for cinema into real life - for nearly 25 years Caperton has been taking "vacation" trips all over the US, Canada and the United Kingdom to visit filming locations from his favorite movies and TV shows: The Shining, Empire Records, It Follows, The Crush, My Bloody Valentine, The Goonies, Scream, My So-Called Life, Rocky Horror, Stranger Things ...the list goes on and on. He even made a full length feature film that got worldwide distribution without taking a single filmmaking class. Caperton took everything to an entirely new level in 2008 when he decided to build and live in a life-size replica of the infamous Michael Myers' house from his favorite movie of all time - John Carpenter's 1978 horror classic, Halloween.

Kenny truly understands what it means to immerse oneself in something they love and has integrated this into his daily life. Now he wants to share that experience with other fans through On Set Cinema!
